PranaShakti Circle Facilitators
Serena Oakley
A wife, mother, passionate student and teacher, Serena has been a full-time certified yoga instructor since 2004, through Moksha Yoga, and is also certified in prenatal yoga through Cynthia Funk. She has a Nia white belt, and a background in Theatre Arts.
Bellydancing since 2006, in Egyptian style with Judy Reynolds and in Modern Bellydance with Audra Simmons in Toronto, she has discovered the healing, transformative power of bellydance. She continues to explore its more mystical roots through sufi whirling and energy waves with Roula Said, and unites her dance with her understanding and passion for Sacred Feminine. She has recently become a certified Dance Our Way Home facilitator with Erica Ross, and continues to explore the healing and sacred qualities of movement and dance. Serena uses basic bellydance movements to open new levels of mind-body awareness in the same way a yoga posture does, and to liberate the sensual, creative flow of life-force in women.
She has also studied astrology and tarot from a very young age. Certified by CAAE, she provides astrology & tarot readings for greater self-understanding, and clarity in times of transition. Her quest in life is understanding the connections between ourselves and the greater whole, and in unifying spirit and matter- embodying the divine.
Devi Spring
Devi has been a practicing Usui Reiki Master-Teacher since 2001, is a Canadian Reiki Association Registered Teacher, and enjoys sharing her knowledge with others through in-depth Reiki certification classes for women. Devi honed her skills as a Reiki Practitioner in holistic centers such as The Yoga Sanctuary Spa and The Healing Circle before founding her own healing practice, PranaDevi Energetics. She has studied and integrated many energetic modalities into her unique work, including vibrational aromatherapy, flower essences, gem elixirs, sound healing, and crystal healing. An avid practitioner and advocate of mindfulness meditation and transformational mantra, Devi is always seeking to deepen her knowledge and understanding of mind-body-spirit integration and explore new avenues of spiritual development and well-being.
Coming from a long line of intuitively-gifted women, Devi was led by her search to develop her natural clairsentience and claircognizance abilities to an exhaustive but fulfilling journey into the esoteric teachings of various world religions and traditional spiritual folk practices. Devi is strongly influenced by Shaktism and Mahayana Buddhism, and follows the teachings of Namadeva Archarya, Swami Satyananda Saraswati, and Shree Maa. She has also written many articles on blending Eastern and Western spirituality for PanGaia, newWitch, and Witches&Pagans magazines.
Devi also embraces the folk-practices of her New Orleans and Mexican spiritual heratiges, and has studied with various respected folkway practitioners as Rev. Catherine Yronwode, Momma Starr Cassas, and Curandera Dona Concha, and has plans to travel to New Orleans again in 2011 for more formal study with several traditional rootworkers. Putting her studies into practice, Devi reads tarot and several other oracles professionally, and crafts traditional folk curios to help others manifest their highest potential and desired goals.
